Fransje Killaars

The installations of Fransje Killaars, made up of various materials, become paintings or sculptures or both at the same time, in which we can move.

By playing with various rough or worked materials – hangings, cushions, bed-spreads, carpets, found or specially made – the artist intensifies the influence of color on each of us. This work highlights all the mechanisms of the perception of color by an invitation to contemplation. The color acts unconsciously on us, it touches our innate sensitivity, commonplace, well before the appearance of the image.
