The Lake
- Peter Land
The exhibition is curated by Michel Ritter
A specificity of Peter Land is to push back all limit to the extreme, nearest to rupture, by using behaviors which are known to us and to which sometimes we can even identify ourselves. The scenes repeated infinitely, or of unusual duration, have a direct influence on our perception of a time space and give us the impression of a perpetual forward-escape.
Peter Land also examines the limits of the medium, in fact video, as an instrument for a personal analysis, a therapy. In his last video work The Lake, which he realized for the exhibition at Fri-Art, Peter Land touches the situation of no return and as back screen, romantic table. The limits are again led or pushed back to the extreme of the finality which opens the doors of nothing.
