Pro-Creation ?

Pro-Creation? initially aims at defining a party taken: to evaluate the why of current artistic creation according to criteria’s usually reserved for the problem of procreation. Secondly this exhibition, conceived according to a concept of Art Orienté Objet, raises certain interrogations: Why produce? Could the work be abstracted from the problem of paternity and filiation – physiological or historical?

The choice of the artists, of very different horizons, found its justification in disconcerting leitmotivs testifying common concerns: the gravity of the artistic gesture, the supposed uselessness of art forcing with strategies to force the attention, the need for resorting to the metaphor, the meaningful action, free positioning in the scale of cultural and ideological references, the unreasonable perseverance of the creative act.
