George Adéagbo

  • George Adéagbo

The passion of George Adéagbo is to create installations with the objects collected randomly from his walks and the annotated newspapers, which he reads greedily. He assembles all the material which evoke in him reflexions or feelings. He is like a librarian of the life of his own, a historian of everyday life. Discovered in 1993 by Jean-Michel Rousset, impassioned for African art, attached to the Centre of contemporary African art of Geneva, George Adéagbo defines himself as follows: ”I don’t present myself as an artist; I assemble the objects of everyday life and in this way seek to understand the things of life. For me, it is a pastime, a distraction.”
