David Lemalas
- David Lamelas
The exhibition is curated by Michel Ritter
David Lamelas scrambles the traditional temporality of the narrative forms. He proposes a slack time which carries out towards a “cinema of immobility”, or cinema of exhibition. For him, the structure has a fundamental importance in the communication, or manufacture, of information and the work of art. And time belongs to the structure of the film.
David Lamelas seeks relations between a static image and a moving image, which can intensify the perception of reality, with the manner of a traditional narrative construction. His videos (Berlin, 1998; The Invention of Dr. Morel, 1999) can thus appear motionless, but this relative immobility plunges the visitor in a meditative perception.
