In 2019, photographer Thomas Kern’s project Consultations ambulatoires / Begegnungen unterwegs (Ambulatory consultations) was selected from among applications for the 12th ‘Fribourg Photographic Survey’. This series of more than 50 black and white portraits aimed to create a temporal document very much anchored in the present and resulting from personal encounters. The series of portraits was accompanied by a conversation between the photographer and Kunsthalle Friart Artistic Director Nicolas Brulhart, as well as a poem by the writer Myriam Wahli.
